42/ Awqaf Minister opens Preaching and Guidance Forum in Madaba

Madaba, Jan. 21 (Petra) – Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Khalaileh, inaugurated Tuesday the Preaching and Guidance Forum, along with a charitable and free medical day organized by the Ministry in cooperation with the Zakat Fund and Al-Maqasid Charity Hospital. The event took place in the areas of Al-Mrijmat and Al-Hawiya, as well as Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Farshouti Mosque in Madaba.

Khalaileh said that His Majesty King Abdullah had recently instructed officials during a cabinet meeting two weeks ago to continue field visits. He emphasized that such visits to all governorates align with royal directives.

The minister highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to organizing such events to provide urgent assistance, review ongoing projects, and address citizens' concerns about the Awqaf sector. He described the gatherings as an opportunity to connect with people across the nation.

During the event, Khalaileh announced the distribution of 500 purchase vouchers worth JD30 each, financial aid of JD100 for 50 orphans and 50 students, and 300 food parcels donated by Hajj Muhammad Abu Soufa.

Additionally, he noted that 120 families in Madaba governorate (southwest of Amman) receive monthly stipends from the Zakat Fund, along with 60 orphans benefiting from sponsorships. There are also six rehabilitation projects underway. The fund is ready to undertake home renovations and implement new projects under specific conditions and criteria.

Madaba Awqaf Director, Issa Bawareed, emphasized that the forum aligns with the Ministry’s mission of delivering guidance through wisdom, moderation, and constructive discourse. The event brought together a group of imams and preachers from across the Kingdom.

During his visit, the minister inaugurated the Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Farshouti Mosque in Madaba and the free medical day organized by Al-Maqasid Charity Hospital, which provided healthcare services to local residents.
