27/ PSUT, Irish envoy talk academic cooperation
Amman, January 21 (Petra) - President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) Dr. Wijdan Abu Haija, discussed with Ireland's Ambassador, Marianne Bolger, ways of enhancing joint cooperation with Irish universities in various technological fields. According to a PSUT statement Tuesday, Dr. Abu Haija reviewed the university's "distinguished" progress and "outstanding" achievements, referring to the "pioneering" programs that were launched in the computer science, engineering and business technology fields. Abu Haija said these milestones were made with the "continuous" guidance and support of Her Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University's Board of Trustees. In this context, he said Princess Sumaya's "ambitious" vision aims to build a "distinguished" generation in technology, who are capable of facing the current challenges and innovating solutions that serve societies and achieve sustainable development goals. For her part, Bolger expressed her admiration for the PSUT's academic level and programs, noting her desire to enhance academic cooperation and exchange of students and faculty members with Irish universities, primarily in the information technology area. Bolger noted this joint cooperation would contribute to developing technological and entrepreneurial capabilities and strengthening Jordanian-Irish relations. //Petra// AG
