  21/ Gaza Media Office: 2,092 families were wiped out from civil registry in Israeli war

Gaza Atrip, Jan 21 (Petra) - Israeli occupation forces wiped out 2,092 Gaza families from civil registry in their aggression on the Strip, with a total of 5,967 people killed, including the father, mother and all other members of the households, the Gaza Government Media Office said.

It said in an updated report on Tuesday that 4,889 families, including 8,980 members, were exterminated, with only one member alive.

Since the start of its aggression until January 18, the occupation army has committed 10,100 massacres, and 46,960 dead bodies arrived in hospitals and 14,222 were missing, it said.

Among the dead were 12,316 women, 17,861 children, 214 infants who were born and killed during the war, 808 children less than a year of age, 44 died of malnutrition, food shortage or the policy of starvation, and 8 who died of cold in the tents of the displaced, including 7 children.

It said 1,155 medical staff, 94 civil defense personnel, 205 journalists, and 736 aid workers and police were killed.

The report also listed 12,800 male and female students, 760 teachers and education employees, 150 scientists, academics and university professors, who were killed in the Israeli war.

It said 110,725 people were wounded, who were transferred to hospitals, including 15,000 who needed long-term rehabilitation, and 4,500 amputations, 18 percent were children.

It pointed out that 12,700 wounded people and 3,000 patients needed to travel out of Gaza for treatment, plus 12,500 cancer patients who were facing death and needed treatment.

The report also said 38,495 children live without their parents or a parent, and 3,500 children risked death due to malnutrition and food shortages.

It said 60,000 pregnant women were at risk with no healthcare, as well as 350,000 chronic patients due to Israel's ban on medicine.

The Media office said Israeli forces dropped 100,000 tons of explosives during the war, and that 161,600 housing units were destroyed completely, 194,000 partially, 823 mosques demolished and 158 others needed restoration, 216 government buildings, 137 schools and universities completely destroyed and 357 schools and universities damaged, in addition to 3 churches that were targeted, 19 cemeteries raised and 2,300 bodies stolen from them.
