  44/ Workshop on combating hate speech organized in Irbid

Irbid, Jan. 19 (Petra)– The Directorate of Education for Al-Wasatiyeh and Al-Taybeh Districts, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate (PSD) and the Community Peace Center, organized an awareness workshop on Sunday on combating hate speech, rejecting violence and extremism, and addressing the impact of social media and electronic games.

The Director of Education, Raad Khasawneh, emphasized the importance of such workshops in empowering educational staff to create a safe and cohesive educational environment. He highlighted the need to strengthen collaboration between educational and security institutions to support the educational process and promote community peace.

The workshop, held at Fatima Al-Zahra Mixed Secondary School, aimed to educate school counselors on their pivotal role in combating hate and violence, fostering values of tolerance and respect within and beyond the school community, and equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to address these issues in a professional and educational manner.

Captain Ibrahim Al-Zureikat and First Lieutenant Malik Zawahreh from the PSD delivered detailed presentations on the dangers of online extremism, strategies for promoting dialogue, and raising awareness about the risks of social media and electronic games on students, along with ways to protect against these risks.
