22/ Workshop Tackles Public Sector Human Resources' Strategic Planning
Amman, Jan. 19 (Petra) - The Public Service and Administration Commission held a workshop on Sunday to review a draft Public Sector Human Resources Strategic Planning guide. The workshop, backed by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), brought together experts and officials from human resources and institutional development units of government agencies. Yasser Nsour, Executive Director of the Technical and Advisory Support Department at the Commission, said the guide is designed to respond to evolving trends in the human resource systems in the public sector. It aligns proactive human resources planning needs in coordination with the strategic goals of government departments and the broader economic and administrative modernization effort. Nsour underscored the importance of studies on future skills, workload assessments, and productivity metrics as essential components to determine the human resource needs of government entities. The guide is part of a comprehensive suite of technical support tools to ensure the effective implementation of human resources management regulations and frameworks that meet priorities outlined in the public sector modernization roadmap, he said. The workshop featured a discussion on aligning human resources needs with the strategic objectives of government departments. It also focused on organizational structure requirements and developing staffing plans in line with production levels to ensure that departments can deliver quality service, enhance public feedback, and improve overall institutional performance. //Petra// AO
