Karak, Jan. 18 (Petra) – The Zahoum Charity Association in Karak, in collaboration with the Begging Unit at the Ministry of Social Development, implemented a project titled "Integrating begging Juveniles" on Saturday, with support from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Association President Abdul Rahman Malahmeh explained that the project aims to reduce the begging phenomenon among children and adolescents. It focuses on providing psychological and social support to begging juveniles, in addition to training and teaching them new skills that will help integrate them positively into society.

He pointed out that through this project, stakeholders seek to provide a safe and sustainable environment for juveniles away from begging and to ensure a better future for them. He emphasized that programs for rehabilitating beggars, their implementation, and monitoring are crucial in reducing the number of beggars caught through the development of corrective and preventive measures and programs to reduce this phenomenon.
