25/ RCJA: Gaza 'a priority' in Jordan's policy

Amman, Jan. 16 (Petra) - Jordan's position will maintain support to Arab and Islamic issues, foremost is the Palestinian cause, aimed to back steadfastness and unity of Palestinian people in all cities of occupied Palestine, Secretary General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA), Abdullah Kanaan, said.

In a statement on Thursday after signing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, Kanaan noted the strip has received "continuous" Jordanian support, as the Kingdom carried out humanitarian air and land aid operations.

These efforts, he noted, were made under the highest Royal directives and engagement, confirming that Gaza, Jerusalem and all Palestine are a "Jordanian Hashemite priority."

Jordan, under the King's leadership, has worked "hard" since the beginning of the Israeli aggression to support the Palestinian people in the strip, consolidate regional peace and security, and call on the world to end the occupation that threatens the region and the world with a conflict with unpredictable results, he stated.

Kanaan also highlighted Jordan's diplomatic support in all international forums to drum up global public opinion to demand an end to the genocide against the Palestinian people, and pressure Israel to abide by international legitimacy resolutions.

In this context, he referred to the recent resolutions issued by the UN General Assembly, which called for halting war in Gaza.

Furthermore, he affirmed the destructive crimes and effects of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza people requires "intensive" international efforts to rebuild the strip.
