Amman, Feb 23 (Petra) -- The Cabinet approved a national healthcare policy and administrative measures during its session Sunday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan.
The Cabinet endorsed the National Policy and Strategy for Quality and Patient Safety 2025-2030, formulated in coordination with the World Health Organization.

The policy establishes a comprehensive framework for healthcare standards throughout the kingdom, implementing unified quality metrics and safety protocols across all healthcare providers.

The strategy incorporates governance mechanisms, data integration protocols, and healthcare workforce development programs. It aligns with international healthcare practices and economic objectives, including the goals outlined in Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision.

In conjunction with the healthcare policy, the Cabinet approved regulations for birth and death surveillance. The measure institutes mandatory 24-hour reporting requirements and establishes four national registries under the Ministry of Health's jurisdiction: a comprehensive birth and death registry, a maternal mortality database for reproductive-age fatalities, a fetal and neonatal mortality registry covering deaths through 28 days postpartum, and a specialized registry for demographic and pathological monitoring as designated by the Health Minister.

The Council approved the Ministry of Youth's organization of youth and sports activities for "Amman Arab Youth Capital 2025," pursuant to the Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Council's 48th session resolution in Iraq.

An inter-ministerial committee, headed by the Youth Minister and comprising the Ministers of Government Communication, Tourism and Antiquities, Interior, Culture, and Amman's Mayor, will oversee implementation. The Cabinet designated July 5 as the annual Arab Youth Day in accordance with the regional ministerial council's directive.
Regarding agricultural regulation, the Council enacted a wholesale horticultural market system for Amman, establishing an electronic trading platform under municipal administration. The system implements contract farming protocols and standardized pricing mechanisms. The platform incorporates product grading standards and post-harvest handling procedures.

The Council authorized electrical infrastructure extension to the Unayzah Agricultural Project in Maan Governorate's Southern Badia region, a Royal Initiative project designed to generate permanent employment and agricultural expertise among local populations.

Administrative reforms included amendments to the Civil Service and Public Administration Authority regulations, enhancing regulatory oversight and organizational efficiency. The Atomic Energy Commission's administrative structure underwent parallel modifications, including the establishment of a data management and communications division.

The Council approved the resolution of 299 pending tax cases between the Income and Sales Tax Department and taxpayers, implementing measures to facilitate tax compliance and improve the business environment.
