33/ Jordan, Saudi Audit Bureaus Discuss Enhanced Cooperation on Financial Oversight
Amman, Feb. 20 (Petra) -- Jordan Audit Bureau Chief Radhi Hamadeen met with Saudi General Auditing Bureau President Hussam Anqari today to strengthen cooperation in financial oversight and develop audit mechanisms among the region's supreme audit institutions. Hamadeen outlined the Bureau's 2024-2027 strategy, which aligns with King Abdullah II's vision for public sector development. The strategy focuses on enhancing audit outputs through international best practices, improved reporting mechanisms, and stronger legislative coordination. Jordan plans to launch the Arab Institute for Control and Audit this year as a certified platform for auditor qualification. The institute will offer specialized training programs and professional certifications to support public sector reform. The officials reviewed their memorandum of understanding implementation, emphasizing capacity building through specialized training and expertise exchange. They highlighted Saudi Arabia's experience in technology-enhanced audit efficiency as a model for the region. The meeting addressed Jordan's upcoming peer review with British, Portuguese, and Polish audit institutions, with Saudi and UAE audit bureaus participating as observers. Anqari commended Jordan's Audit Bureau development and stressed continued coordination under ARABOSAI (Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) to enhance transparency and accountability across Arab audit bodies.
