17/ JAF celebrates World Interfaith Harmony Week
Amman, Feb. 19 (Petra) - Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army on Wednesday held a celebration to mark World Interfaith Harmony Week 2025. Held at Prince Hassan College of Islamic Sciences, the event was attended by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Chief Justice, a number of senior JAF officers, military attachés in the Kingdom, and several presidents of Jordanian universities and civilian officials. Speaking at the event, the JAF mufti said coexistence with laws and religions is an "urgent" life necessity to preserve safety of human society and respond to the call of "sound" human nature. Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is considered a "symbol of harmony and a cradle of peace, and a model of societal coexistence, and authentic national values, which emanate from a correct grasp of the goals of the tolerant Islamic Sharia, " he pointed out Meanwhile, Nabil Haddad, director of the Jordanian Interfaith Coexistence Research Center (JICRC), said: "Our celebration is a national societal heritage and comes as an expression of pride in the Royal effort and Hashemite initiatives". Representative of the JAF Military Operations Directorate said the Arab Army, since the beginning of Jordan's participation in peacekeeping forces, have called for interfaith harmony, aimed to reducing tension and human rights violations in their mission areas. The official added that this effort snubbed extremist religious concepts and conveyed contents of Amman Message as an example to follow suit in all conflict zones globally. On its foreign contributions, he indicated that the Arab Army has strengthened its presence through military hospitals and medical teams that have provided their services in over 30 countries globally. Additionally, he noted Jordanian field hospitals and surgical stations have made humanitarian contributions in Gaza, Nablus, Ramallah, Jenin, and other countries around the world. //Petra// AG
