14/ Prime Minister Meets National Charter Party
Amman, February 19 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Jafar Hassan met Wednesday with the head and members of the National Charter Party at the Lower House of Parliament, in the presence of House Speaker Ahmad Safadi, as part of a series of meetings with parliamentary party blocs. Hassan underscored the government's commitment to maintaining ongoing communication with parties and parliamentary blocs, emphasizing that such engagement is essential for advancing Jordan’s political modernization efforts. He reiterated the government’s adherence to the royal directive and the ministerial response presented before Parliament. Discussions also reaffirmed Jordan’s steadfast stance, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, on the Palestinian cause, rejecting any form of displacement, settlement, or an alternative homeland. For his part, Safadi emphasized that the Lower House of Parliament represents the conscience of the Jordanian people, reaffirming unwavering support for King Abdullah II’s positions in defending national interests and advocating for Palestinian rights. He also commended the Prime Minister’s field visits to the governorates, highlighting Parliament’s commitment to a productive partnership with the government to fulfill the aspirations of citizens.
