Amman, Feb. 18 (Petra) - Jordan is taking part in the Third Arab International Land Conference hosted by Morocco, under the theme:"Land solutions for investments, resilience, and innovation". The event, which kicked off Tuesday, and will continue until February 20, is held in partnership with the UN-Habitat, Arab Land Initiative and other relevant bodies. Speaking at the conference, Jordan's representative, Director General of the Department of Lands and Survey (DLS), Dr. Ahmad Omoush, said the participation aims to exchange knowledge, enhance joint cooperation and coordination and learn about the "best" global practices and standards in land management (LM) domains. Omoush added that Jordan also seeks to benefit from "advanced" countries' expertise in LM fields and enhance and stimulate the investment environment in the Jordanian real estate sector. The conference, he noted, represents an "important" milestone in promoting "sound" land governance to achieve social, economic, environmental and peace gains in the Arab region. On agenda, he stated the discussions provide a platform to tackle countries' experiences, present new research, guide investments, and enhance "high-level" commitment to improving the land sector. //Petra// AG
