5/ JODDB Showcases Advanced Defense Solutions at IDEX 2025

Amman, Feb. 17 (Petra) -- The Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) is participating in the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025), held in the United Arab Emirates from today until February 21.

The event, dedicated to defense and security industries, features cutting-edge technologies and military solutions from global manufacturers, with JODDB showcasing a range of advanced defense systems and products within the Jordanian pavilion.

According to a statement by JODDB on Monday, the bureau is displaying its latest innovations, including the upgraded "Al-Wahsh Al-Kaser" armored vehicle. Designed for military operations, the vehicle integrates high-tech defense systems, offering enhanced protection for convoys and operational forces. It features advanced firepower capabilities for targeted engagements, high maneuverability in challenging terrains, and day-and-night surveillance, detection, and jamming systems. The vehicle is suited for rapid response, reconnaissance, protection, and peacekeeping missions.

JODDB is also exhibiting a 40mm smoke grenade launcher, capable of deploying 15 smoke grenades simultaneously. The system, which can be operated manually or automatically, has a firing range of up to 200 meters and features an automated targeting mechanism.

In the field of border security, JODDB is showcasing an integrated defense system equipped with modern electronic warfare technologies, including the Signal Striker, a handheld jamming device, and Sky Storm, a stationary system specialized in countering drone threats.

As part of its ammunition portfolio, the bureau is presenting a selection of medium- and large-caliber munitions, including 81mm and 120mm mortar shells, 155mm artillery rounds, and aerial bombs such as the MK81, MK82, and MK84, alongside a variety of small-caliber ammunition.

JODDB is also highlighting its advancements in virtual reality-based military training, developed to enhance operational readiness while reducing risks and costs. Among these is the digital sand table, an innovative battlefield planning tool, and Kill House, an advanced VR-based training system featuring real weapons, such as an M4 rifle equipped with an air-powered recoil simulation for realistic combat drills.

The exhibition further includes JODDB’s latest soldier equipment, featuring bulletproof vests and helmets with protection against high-caliber rounds, tactical military footwear, and a range of firearms and optics, including the newly developed JSP 9 pistol, which offers a striker release system and an improved trigger mechanism, as well as rifles and night, day, and thermal sighting systems.

Additionally, CyberShield Academy is participating in the exhibition, highlighting its cybersecurity training programs and global initiatives. This includes the Armethon competition, a cybersecurity challenge targeting military and security organizations worldwide.

Established by Royal Decree in 1999, JODDB operates as an independent military-civilian research and development institution under the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army. It provides high-efficiency, cost-competitive defense and security solutions, serving as a hub for technological advancements in the sector.
