Amman, Dec. 30 (Petra) - Spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Omar Maharrameh, said the ministry's directorates nationwide responded to 154 reports in the past 24 hours. Maharrameh added that most cases tackled rising water levels and landslides of soil and rocks on roads due to the prevailing weather conditions. In remarks to "Petra" Tuesday, he said field teams addressed the reports "promptly," confirming all roads under the ministry's jurisdiction are ready to receive traffic flow, with the exception of Wadi Araba highway, which is closed due to landslides in Ghor Numeira area. Maharrameh said traffic has been diverted on Ma'moura-Tafila road to the Desert Highway until the necessary technical procedures are completed. Regarding maintenance work, he indicated that a ministry technical team will conduct a comprehensive technical check of the dilapidated road to determine the necessary procedures for repairing the damage and reopening the road as "quickly as possible." Maharrameh noted field teams were deployed on the target sites since Friday evening and are working continuously to address various issues and ensure the uninterrupted flow of traffic on main and rural roads. //Petra// AG
