  2/ Temps Near Seasonal Averages, Slight Decline Expected by Weekend

Amman, Dec. 24 (Petra)-- Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to hover around their seasonal averages, with relatively cold conditions prevailing across most regions, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will enjoy mild weather. Low-level clouds are expected to appear, and southeasterly winds will be moderate.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, relatively cold conditions will persist on Thursday in most areas, with mild temperatures continuing in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Southeasterly winds will remain moderate.

On Friday, a slight drop in temperatures is forecast. The weather will be relatively cold in most regions and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with low clouds developing. Winds will shift to westerly and northwesterly directions, blowing at moderate speeds and occasionally becoming active.

Another slight decrease in temperatures is expected on Saturday, with cold conditions and partly cloudy to cloudy skies prevailing in most parts of the Kingdom. Winds will be moderate southwesterly and occasionally active.

During the night, the weather will be cold and generally cloudy, with rain showers expected over northern parts of the Kingdom and sections of the central regions. Winds will be moderate southwesterly.

Maximum and minimum temperatures for today are forecast to range between 16C and 6C in eastern Amman, and between 14C and 5C in western Amman. In the northern highlands, temperatures will range from 13C to 6C, and in the Sharah highlands from 12C to 4C. The Badia regions will see temperatures between 17C and 3C, and the plains between 16C and 5C.

In the northern Jordan Valley, temperatures will range from 21C to 10C, and in the southern Jordan Valley from 23C to 12C. The Dead Sea is expected to record temperatures between 22C and 11C, while Aqaba will range between 23C and 11C.
