  16/ GAM completes development projects worth JD3M

Amman, Dec. 24 (Petra) – The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced completion of a package of construction and development projects in its 22 districts, at a total cost of JD3,042,927.487.

This plan comes as part of GAM's ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure efficiency and enhance public safety in the capital Amman.

According to a GAM statement issued on Wednesday, the achievements aimed to implement extensive work on road infrastructure construction, which covers a total area of ??56,467 square meters, worth JD841,128.487, within its 22 districts.

The GMA added that these operations aimed to provide a "safer" traffic environment and improve the road network in the capital.

The municipality also completed sidewalk maintenance works in all its districts, covering an area of ??8,219.95 square meters at a cost of JD164,399 to ensure their sustainability and the safety of their users.

Additionally, the GAM carried out renovation operations aimed to protect streets from landslides and secure residential buildings in high areas.

The statement noted the GAM paved dilapidated roads using 3,589 cubic meters of concrete at a cost of JD897,250. GAM constructed and maintained 3,984 cubic meters of staircases worth JD239,040 to serve pedestrians, facilitate movement, and provide a safe and comfortable environment.

Furthermore, the GAM constructed and maintained 11,130 meters of pipe and box culverts in Amman at a value of JD901,110 to ensure the highest levels of efficiency in stormwater drainage and protect safety of citizens and their property.

Through these projects, which align with the GAM's strategic plan, the municipality aims to improve quality of the citizens' life and enhance the level of infrastructure services in the target areas.
