30/ Investment Minister, Indian firm chief explore investment cooperation after economic forum
Amman, Dec. 17 (Petra)- Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh discussed ways to enhance investment cooperation and partnerships during a meeting on Wednesday with the chief executive of India’s RITES Limited, in the presence of the chief executive of the Jordanian Company for the Development of Cities and Government Facilities and specialists from the ministries of transport and investment. According to a ministry statement, the meeting followed up on economic talks held on the sidelines of the Jordan–India Economic Forum, which was convened on Tuesday under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah and attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two sides reviewed a number of investment opportunities available across various sectors in the Kingdom, particularly infrastructure, transport, energy, and the development of railway lines within modern networks that would help reduce transport time and costs and improve supply-chain efficiency. Abu Ghazaleh underscored the strategic importance of transport projects and railway lines, noting their pivotal role in linking the Kingdom to regional and international trade networks, given Jordan’s distinctive geographic location. He pointed to the government’s keenness to benefit from advanced international expertise in developing major infrastructure projects, ensuring their implementation in line with best global practices and through partnerships with the private sector, in a manner that achieves the desired developmental and economic objectives. //Petra// AF
