38/ Crown Prince Foundation Celebrates International Volunteer Day

Amman, Dec. 11 (Petra)-- The Crown Prince Foundation has announced the organization of an event to celebrate International Volunteer Day, through the national volunteering platform "Nahno," one of its key programs implemented with support from UNICEF and in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 20, at the Royal Cultural Center in Amman.

In a statement, the Foundation said the event comes as part of the platform’s efforts to promote a culture of volunteerism, public service, and active citizenship in Jordan. It also aims to highlight the impact of youth participation in national initiatives across the Kingdom’s governorates and showcase the growing role of volunteerism in addressing environmental and climate-related issues, in line with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The initiative further seeks to strengthen partnerships and enhance the exchange of expertise and experiences among stakeholders from various sectors.

The Foundation explained that participation is open to all interested individuals, who can register through the following link:

The event will feature showcases of volunteer stories and experiences from different governorates, along with two specialized sessions focusing on water challenges in Jordan and the proper management of solid waste, including reuse and recycling mechanisms.

A dedicated exhibition for the platform’s partners will also be held, bringing together a number of civil society organizations and youth initiatives working in the fields of volunteerism and sustainability. The exhibition will allow visitors to learn about impactful community projects and programs, engage with participating entities, and explore opportunities to join and benefit from their experiences within their local communities.

The event will include a range of digital and awareness activities open to visitors, such as a 360-degree photo experience, a 3D hologram display featuring messages on volunteerism and climate action that can be shared on social media, as well as educational games and challenges aimed at promoting positive environmental behaviors. A dedicated space for tree-planting initiatives will allow participants to choose an area to plant trees in their communities and document their commitment through an eco-friendly sustainable card.

The Foundation emphasized that designing the event with a digital and environmentally friendly approach aligns with "Nahno’s" commitment to advancing environmental and climate-focused volunteerism and supports national efforts to reinforce a culture of sustainability and active citizenship.
