29/ Education Ministry Holds Workshop on 2026-2030 Strategic Plan Pillars

Amman, Dec. 8 (Petra) – The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Sahar Shakhatreh, said Monday that the strategic plan for Jordan’s education sector for 2026-2030 is built on four main pillars, reflecting the Ministry’s vision and aligned with the priorities of economic modernization.

Speaking at the closing session of the final workshop for developing the strategy, Shakhatreh explained that the pillars encompass early childhood education, basic and secondary education, vocational and technical education, and higher education.

She noted that the workshop coincided with the launch of the second phase of the Economic Modernization Vision and the ongoing restructuring of the education sector. The strategy was developed through cumulative efforts by national experts and international partners, establishing a roadmap grounded in evidence, data, and national priorities.

Shakhatreh expressed appreciation to UNESCO, the International Institute for Educational Planning, all supporting entities, local and international partners, and Ministry staff for their contributions to the workshop’s success.

The strategic plan continues Jordan’s educational development efforts, in line with the vision of economic and administrative modernization and the Royal directives calling for a modern, comprehensive, and equitable education system capable of preparing future generations with essential skills.
