Occupied Jerusalem/Ramallah, Dec. 7 (Petra) – Israeli occupation forces on Sunday carried out wide-ranging raids and arrests across several parts of the occupied West Bank, storming Palestinian homes, searching them, assaulting residents and damaging property, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society.

In a statement, the Society said Israeli forces, accompanied by heavy gunfire, raided multiple areas in the cities of Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Ramallah, Tulkarm and Jenin, detaining 16 Palestinians on claims they were "wanted."

In a related development, dozens of Israeli settlers forced their way into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif in occupied Jerusalem under heavy protection from Israeli occupation police.

The Jerusalem Islamic Waqf said in a statement that the settlers entered the compound in successive groups through the Moroccan Gate, performed provocative Talmudic rituals, and roamed the site, while Israeli police barred Muslim worshippers from entering through the external gates to secure the settlers’ incursions.
