39/ Army chief receives Barbados Defence Force Chief of Staff
Amman, Dec. 7 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Sunday received Barbados Defence Force (BDF) Chief of Staff Brig. Carlos Lovell and an accompanying delegation at Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)–Arab Army headquarters. The visitor was accorded a military reception, including an honour guard ceremony. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen military cooperation and exchange expertise between the two armies, as well as the latest regional and international developments. Maj. Gen. Huneiti and the visiting delegation were briefed on the operational and humanitarian efforts carried out by the Jordan Armed Forces, especially support for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip through the delivery of relief and medical aid, in addition to future plans and training programs aimed at developing joint defence cooperation. Huneiti affirmed the Jordan Armed Forces’ commitment to expanding avenues of military partnership with Barbados, particularly in technological and training fields. For his part, Brig. Lovell praised Jordan’s role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, in enhancing regional security, commending the professionalism and high standards of the Jordan Armed Forces. At the end of the visit, which was attended by a number of senior JAF officers, Brig. Lovell wrote an entry in the visitors’ book. //Petra// AF
