20/ Interior Minister, Public Security Chief check on Family Protection Department services
Amman, Dec 1 (Petra) – Interior Minister Mazen Faraya and Public Security Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Monday called on the Family Protection and Juvenile Department for a briefing on its efforts in handling specialized cases and prevention and awareness programs to enhance social and family security. The minister commended the department's "institutional" strategy and key efforts to protect families and vulnerable groups and address family-related matters and find solutions to safeguard family cohesion and protect juveniles from delinquency. Faraya noted coordination and collaboration between the Public Security Directorate and administrative governors to serve victims and respect their privacy. He called for further development of the work strategy and adherence to best humanitarian, legal, and social standards. For his part, the Public Security Chief pledged continued support of the Family Protection Department, urging implementation of plans to boost the family protection system, expand services, and enhance the efficiency of staff working in the field. Maaytah also noted the importance of awareness programs of the Family Protection Department in partnership with educational, religious, and community institutions, stressing their role in instilling behavioral values ??that reject violence and promote dialogue and respect within families and society.
