Amman, Aug. 18 (Petra) -- Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday discussed with Qatar’s Ambassador to Jordan Saud Al Thani ways to strengthen relations and reviewed the current regional situation, particularly the heinous Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.

They stressed the importance of pan-Arab efforts to stop the aggression and allow sufficient humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The meeting, attended by Chair of the Jordan-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Committee Senator Khawla Armouti, also underscored the importance of building on the strong Jordanian-Qatari ties in various fields.

Fayez expressed pride in the depth of relations between the two countries, describing them as historic and rooted in mutual respect, serving common interests and Arab causes. He noted that King Abdullah II and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani are committed to strengthening and advancing these ties.

He highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in different areas and maintaining close coordination and consultation, especially under current Arab circumstances that call for greater unity. He also praised Qatar’s support to Jordan.

Al Thani reaffirmed his country’s commitment to building on the ties with Jordan, stressing that Qatar values its solid relations with the Kingdom, based on mutual respect and aimed at serving the common interests of both nations and the just causes of the Arab world.
