8/ Cybercrime Unit Arrests Five for Running Divisive Social Media Accounts
Amman, April 18 (Petra) --Five individuals have been arrested for operating social media accounts that promote sectarian division and racial hostility, the Public Security Directorate announced Thursday. The Cybercrime Unit identified the administrators through targeted monitoring of accounts posting inflammatory content designed to undermine national unity. "All five suspects have been taken into custody and referred to judicial authorities," a security spokesperson said. "The Public Prosecutor has ordered their detention pending investigation." Law enforcement officials continue monitoring digital platforms for similar violations, with additional suspects already identified both domestically and internationally. Alerts have been issued for those operating beyond the Kingdom's borders. "We will show no leniency toward those who attempt to damage our social fabric," the spokesperson warned. "Regardless of where these accounts operate from, we will take decisive action against anyone seeking to incite division within Jordanian society." //Petra// AA
