Amman, April 18 (Petra) -- Tourism and Antiquities Minister Lina Annab conducted a special tour of Jerash's ancient ruins yesterday alongside Chinese celebrity travel duo Zhang Xinyu and Liang Hong, whose travel documentaries have amassed over 10 billion views worldwide.

The high-profile visit, timed to coincide with World Heritage Day celebrations, forms part of filming for the international documentary series "On the Road," a joint production between Jordanian filmmaker Ibrahim Shaheen and Chinese partners.

An official Chinese television crew captured the tour, which highlighted Jordan's archaeological treasures and conservation efforts. The delegation visited the Regional Conservation and Restoration Center in Jerash a facility inaugurated by King Abdullah II in September 2024 designed to build local expertise in artifact preservation.

"Jordan offers Chinese visitors an unforgettable experience defined by warmth and hospitality," Minister Annab told Chinese media during an exclusive interview. "Despite our geographical distance, we share fundamental human and cultural values."

The influential Chinese duo, known for inspiring millions of followers through their travel content, also explored the Zeus Temple stairs restoration project being implemented in partnership with the French government. Their tour included the historic Colonnaded Street, ancient marketplace, Southern Theater, and Archaeology House.

In a demonstration of Jordan's community-based tourism initiatives, the group visited "Souf Experiences House," a women-led enterprise preserving traditional crafts and cultural heritage. The Chinese crew documented visitors engaging with local culinary traditions and handcrafted products.

"Partnering with influential personalities like Zhang Xinyu and Liang Hong helps deliver Jordan's cultural message to audiences across China and beyond," Minister Annab said, underscoring the ministry's commitment to sustainable tourism development and expanding the Kingdom's presence in key Asian markets.
