26/ Jordan, Iraq discuss legal cooperation

Amman, April 17 (Petra) – An Iraqi delegation, in cooperation with Public Security Directorate (PSD), on Thursday visited the Judicial Institute of Jordan ( JIJ ) to learn about the Kingdom's legal expertise and its "distinguished and advanced" experience in this field.

Touring the JIJ's headquarters, the delegation listened to highlights on the institute's key goals and mechanisms to achieve its vision through the digital learning platform and the e-library.

Speaking during the meeting, JIJ Director, Dr. Nashat Akhras, expressed the "deep-rooted, brotherly" relations, noting the two countries' keenness to enhance and continue the existing judicial cooperation.

Akhras noted the JIJ's "readiness" to provide all its training expertise to the Iraqi side, especially since the institute has previously held "numerous" training courses for judges from Iraq.

Meanwhile, members of the visiting delegation commended experience of the Jordanian judiciary and its "distinguished" reputation.

The delegates also stressed their keenness to consolidate cooperation and benefit from Jordan's expertise in this field, expressing admiration for the JIJ's training experience.
