Amman, April 17 (Petra) – A delegation from the National Pension Authority and the Iraqi Civil Service Pension Fund visited the Social Security Corporation on Thursday to examine its pioneering experience in reforming and amending the Social Security Law, which is grounded in actuarial studies. According to a statement issued by the Corporation, Acting Director General Jadallah Khalayleh welcomed the delegation, praising the deep-rooted historical ties between Jordan and Iraq. He underscored Jordan’s commitment to Arab solidarity, guided by the vision of its wise Hashemite leadership. Khalayleh reiterated the Corporation’s readiness to provide full cooperation with the Iraqi National Pension Authority and Civil Service Pension Fund. He expressed hope that the visit would achieve tangible benefits, especially in understanding the motivations and phases behind the amendments to Jordan’s Social Security Law. He highlighted that the amendments stem from actuarial findings and aim to address legislative gaps revealed during implementation. The reforms also seek to enhance service quality for insured individuals and retirees, contributing to broader social protection goals. Maher Hussein Rashid, representative of the Chairman of the Iraqi National Pension Authority, commended the Corporation’s swift response and hospitality. He stressed that the visit marked a valuable opportunity to advance the development of pension legislation and regulations in Iraq.
