Cairo, April 16 (Petra) The Arab Parliament and Russia’s State Duma on Wednesday underscored the need to halt Israel’s ongoing offensive on the Gaza Strip.

In a joint statement released by the Arab Parliament, Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi and Russian State Duma Deputy Chairman Alexander Babakov stressed, during a meeting in Cairo, the importance of reaching final political settlements to regional crises without foreign interference, in a manner that preserves the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Arab states.

Babakov reaffirmed Russia’s full support for Arab positions calling for an immediate end to the aggression.
Al Yamahi also voiced the Arab Parliament’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary ties with the Russian Federation at all levels, expressing support for the swift establishment of an Arab-Russian parliamentary forum and backing the Arab Parliament’s participation in the BRICS+ Parliamentary Forum.
