Amman, April 15 (Petra) – Jordan’s leading economic institutions have firmly condemned the recently revealed terrorist plots targeting the kingdom’s security and stability. In separate statements issued Tuesday, the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Amman Chamber of Commerce, and the General Association for Foodstuff Merchants (GAFJO) expressed deep concern and unwavering support for the efforts of the General Intelligence Department (GID).

The Jordan Chamber of Commerce strongly denounced the criminal plots, which, according to the GID, involved attempts to manufacture drones and rockets, assemble firearms and explosives, and recruit individuals both within and outside Jordan. The Chamber stressed that Jordan’s security is a "red line" and asserted that such schemes are doomed to fail thanks to the vigilance of the Jordanian people and the capabilities of national security forces.

Commending the GID’s extensive monitoring of the plot since 2021, the Chamber lauded the successful preemptive actions that led to the arrest of those involved. It also urged all sectors of Jordan’s commercial and economic community to rally behind the Hashemite leadership and security services to preserve national stability a cornerstone for sustainable growth and investment.

The Amman Chamber of Commerce echoed these sentiments, describing the GID’s exposure of the dangerous plot as a testament to its enduring professionalism and dedication. The Chamber praised the department’s precision and diligence, which led to the arrest of 16 individuals involved in the conspiracy before their plans could materialize.

It reaffirmed its full support for the Hashemite leadership and Jordan’s brave security forces, emphasizing that national security is the solid foundation upon which economic development depends. The Chamber called on citizens to remain vigilant and united in safeguarding the country.

Likewise, the General Association for Foodstuff Merchants (GAFJO) issued a statement of strong condemnation against the plots, characterizing them as criminal attempts to destabilize Jordan. The Union expressed confidence that such acts would only reinforce Jordanians’ unity and resolve against any threat to their homeland.

Expressing deep gratitude to the GID for its professional and sacrificial efforts, the Union underscored the importance of standing shoulder to shoulder with national institutions. It called on the food sector and all citizens to support security forces in their noble mission and prayed for the continued protection of Jordan, its leadership, and its people.
