60/ Jordanian tribes, unions, municipal leaders condemn terror plots, hail GID's efforts

Amman, April 15 (Petra) – Official, tribal, and professional entities across Jordan strongly condemned the recent criminal plots that sought to destabilize the kingdom, reaffirming their unwavering support for national security agencies, especially the General Intelligence Department (GID).

In separate statements released Tuesday, various groups praised the professionalism and vigilance of Jordan’s security agencies in thwarting internal and external threats.

The Bani Hamida tribe, in a strongly worded statement, denounced what it described as "the criminal plans targeting national security," referring to those behind the plots as "rats of the earth." The tribe reaffirmed its readiness to defend the nation, stating, "There is no shelter but Jordan’s, and no power but in the hands of honorable Jordanians."

"We will neither bargain nor compromise. The homeland cannot be protected with silence nor taken with deceit. Our weapons are aligned with the nation, its leader, and every bullet fired by the army and intelligence forces," the statement read. It concluded with a defiant message: "Our salute to you is the sword’s edge," warning extremist groups that the tribe stands watchful and prepared.

The Jordanian Contractors Association also condemned the foiled plots, with its president, Fouad Al-Duwairi, stating, "Let those who harbor hatred know that Jordan will remain a fortified bastion and a safe haven, under its Hashemite banner, Arab army, security apparatuses, and the unity of its people." He stressed the need to respond decisively to any threat to the nation’s peace and called on all Jordanians to stand united.

The Mafraq branch of the Jordan Engineers Association praised the intelligence services for tracking the plots since 2021 with "utmost skill and professionalism." It expressed outrage at these "criminal acts" that run contrary to Jordanian values and pose direct threats to public safety.

The association reaffirmed its support for the Hashemite leadership and Jordan’s security agencies, calling for those behind such plots to be held accountable regardless of affiliation, and urged strong action against anyone attempting to undermine national stability.

Madaba Greater Municipality also released a statement condemning the conspiracies uncovered by the GID. "The homeland is a red line," the statement said, "and there is no place among us for those who seek to disrupt its peace."

The municipality thanked the GID’s "Knights of the Right" and all security personnel for their continued efforts, describing them as devoted protectors of the country under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
