30/ House committee, Yemeni envoy talk cooperation
Amman, April 15 (Petra) – The Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee, headed by MP Dina Bashir, affirmed Jordan’s "firm" positions on various Arab and regional issues, primarily aimed to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East. During a meeting on Tuesday with Yemeni Ambassador to Jordan, Jalal Ibrahim Faqira, Bashir stressed the "strong" bilateral relations , affirming Jordan’s keenness to strengthen them in various fields. Bashir underlined need to reach a political agreement that ends Yemen's crisis and guarantees its security, stability, and territorial integrity. Meanwhile, the committee's MPs stressed the importance of reaching a comprehensive solution that meets Yemeni people's aspirations to achieve security and peace. Noting Jordan's role, under His Majesty King Abdullah's directives since beginning of the Yemeni crisis, the lawmakers said Jordan has been receiving and treating injured and sick Yemenis at Jordanian hospitals and providing them with the "best possible health care." The Yemeni envoy expressed appreciation for Jordan's "supportive" stance toward Yemen, praising the bilateral relations and cooperation, especially in parliamentary areas.
