2/ Persisting Cool Weather on Tuesday, Followed by Weeklong Warm-Up

Amman, April 15 (Petra) -- The Kingdom is witnessing a slight rise in temperatures on Tuesday, accompanied by cold and partly cloudy weather across most regions, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

In its daily report, the department noted that moderate conditions will prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Light rain showers are possible in the early morning hours in northern and central parts of the Kingdom, as well as in some eastern areas. Winds are expected to be northwesterly and active.

The department also warned of reduced horizontal visibility in the early morning due to fog over high mountainous areas and parts of the plains, and of potential dust formation in the eastern desert.

On Wednesday, the Kingdom will be affected by a ridge of high pressure, resulting in stable weather and a significant rise in temperatures to near seasonal averages. The weather is forecast to be mild and spring-like in the highlands and warm across the rest of the country. High-altitude clouds may appear, with light easterly winds prevailing.

Temperatures are expected to continue rising on Thursday. Both Thursday and Friday will bring relatively warm conditions in most regions, with relatively hot weather anticipated in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds will be moderate southeasterlies, occasionally becoming active.

Forecast high and low temperatures for Tuesday are expected to range between 18 C and 7 C in East Amman, and between 16 C and 5 C in West Amman. In the northern highlands, temperatures will vary from 13 C to 4 C, while the Sharah highlands will see a range of 14 C to 3 C.

Desert regions are forecast to experience temperatures between 21 C and 7 C, and the plains between 18 C and 8 C. In the northern Jordan Valley, temperatures will range from 26 C to 10 C, while the southern Jordan Valley will see a higher range of 28 C to 16 C.

The Dead Sea is expected to record temperatures between 27 C and 15 C, the same as the Gulf of Aqaba.
