2/ Cold Weather Expected for Three Days, Rain Forecast in Several Regions

Amman, April 13 (Petra) -- A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Sunday, while weather conditions across Jordan remain unstable, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Relatively cold weather will prevail across most regions, but warmer conditions are expected in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. By midday, low-altitude clouds are expected to increase, particularly over the northern and central parts of the Kingdom, creating favorable conditions for intermittent rainfall, especially in the north and limited areas of the central-western region.

Later in the evening, rainfall may extend to parts of the south, including the city of Aqaba. Some showers may be accompanied by thunder in isolated areas. Winds will be moderate northwesterly, becoming active at intervals.

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of reduced horizontal visibility due to fog formation over high mountainous areas and parts of the plains. Dust may also contribute to limited visibility in desert regions.

On Monday, the Kingdom is forecast to experience partly to mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will remain cold in most areas, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to see milder conditions. Scattered showers are expected at intervals across the north, center, and parts of the eastern and southwestern regions. Winds will shift to active westerlies.

Tuesday’s forecast indicates continued relatively cold weather in most regions, with warmer conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Light rain showers are likely in the morning over the northern, eastern, and parts of the central regions. Winds will remain active and westerly.

By Wednesday, a slight increase in temperatures is expected. Moderate weather will prevail across most of the Kingdom, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will remain warm. High clouds are expected to appear over southern areas. Winds will turn easterly and remain moderate.

Temperatures today are expected to range between 17 C and 8 C in East Amman, and between 15 C and 6 C in West Amman. In the northern highlands, temperatures will range from 13 C to 4 C, while in the Sharah highlands they will vary between 14 C and 4 C.

Desert areas are forecast to see temperatures between 22 C and 8 C, and the plains between 18 C and 9 C. In the Jordan Valley, temperatures will range from 26 C to 12 C in the north, and from 29 C to 16 C in the south.

The Dead Sea is expected to record temperatures between 26 C and 15 C, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a range from 28 C to 14 C.
