30/ Global Cardiologists Convene in Jordan for 15th International Heart Conference
Amman, Oct. 2 (Petra) -- The 15th International Conference of the Jordan Cardiac Society, along with the 3rd Arab Heart Failure Conference and the 5th Jordanian Heart Failure Summit, kicked off Wednesday in Amman, drawing international experts to discuss cutting-edge developments in cardiovascular care. Opening the event, Dr. Jamal Dabbas, President of the Jordan Cardiac Society, highlighted the significance of partnerships with major global health institutions, including the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the European Society of Cardiology. He announced plans to formalize these collaborations through memorandums of understanding, enhancing Jordan’s role in global cardiology networks. Dabbas also revealed ongoing talks with Mayo Clinic for a potential partnership in Jordan, and with the Asia-Pacific Heart Society to create training pathways for Jordanian doctors in Japan and Singapore. These efforts, he said, will strengthen Jordan’s position as a leader in heart health across the region. Senator Dr. Yousef Al-Qusus, a key figure in Jordan’s medical community, noted the country's remarkable progress in cardiology and heart surgery, turning Jordan into a sought-after destination for both treatment and scientific research. The conference features 120 presentations by leading experts from 26 countries, including specialists from renowned institutions like Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Qais Al-Balbisi, Chair of the Scientific Committee, emphasized that nine hands-on workshops will offer participants the chance to engage directly with the latest advancements in the field. In a virtual address, Cathleen Biga, President of the American College of Cardiology, praised Jordan’s achievements in cardiovascular medicine and its role in the region. The conference is accredited by the Jordan Medical Council for continuing education credits.
