18/ Jordan, Canada Partner to Launch Animation, Digital Content Training Center

Amman, Nov. 21 (Petra) - The Canadian Embassy in Amman announced a new Canadian-Jordanian partnership aimed at teaching animation and digital content creation in Jordan.

The initiative, which involves Canada’s University of Waterloo and Jordan’s Progressive Generation – Holding, will see the opening of the first training center for animation and digital content in the Middle East.

Set to launch in March 2025 in Jordan, the center will offer accredited programs for youth aspiring to enter the animation and digital content industry.

The partnership aims to provide cutting-edge training and equip students with the skills needed to excel in competitive global markets. By combining academic accreditation with practical certificates, the center will offer high-quality education that aligns with international industry standards.

Canadian Ambassador Tariq Ali Khan highlighted the importance of this partnership in enhancing Jordan’s reputation as a hub for digital content creation and outsourcing.

He noted that the training program will generate over 50,000 jobs in the creative industries across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by 2030.

Jean-Paul Mouton, Corporate Development Lead at the University of Waterloo, emphasized the transformative impact this initiative could have on the MENA region by developing digital skills and creating significant employment opportunities.

Ahmad Al Masri, CEO of Progressive Generation Holding, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, "Together, we are not just envisioning a new era of animation we are building it. By empowering students, fostering innovation, and creating opportunities, we are elevating our industry to unprecedented heights."
