Amman, Nov. 20 (Petra) - Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mamoun Al-Debi'e, on Wednesday discussed with a Chinese delegation from Southern Medical University (SMU), future cooperation mechanisms and development of joint projects that serve the two countries' academic and research sector.

According to a ministry statement, Al-Debi'e highlighted the key achievements of Jordan's higher education sector, as it attracted overseas students to study in Jordanian universities.

Al-Debi'e said that "excellence" of Jordanian universities in medical specialties and alumni's achievements of "advanced" positions in various international tests led to a "remarkable" turnout of non-Jordanian students to study in the Kingdom.

For his part, the Chinese delegation expressed the university's aspiration to strengthen partnership with Jordanian educational institutions, especially in the fields of student exchange, scientific research, and medical training.
