Amman, November 20 (Petra) - - Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa Wednesday said Jordan stood "firm" in facing the brutal aggression on Gaza and all Israeli attacks in the West Bank.

Inaugurating the Conference on Role of International Community in Promoting Palestinian Children's Rights, she referred to the diplomatic and political efforts made and led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and the government to stop the Israeli genocide, and expose the falsehood and lies of the Israeli narrative of Gaza war.

This effort, she noted, made many changes in the positions of countries and countered Israel's ambitions of forced displacement, settlement and bids to end UNRWA.

"Jordan was able with all courage and competence to provide immediate humanitarian relief aid, and break the siege imposed on various areas in the Strip by air and land, " she pointed out.

The minister added that Jordan's response is "strongly" present, officially and popularly, to support Palestine and its sanctities and strengthen the steadfastness of its people.

Bani Mustafa said: "After 411 days since the start of the brutal aggression and genocide in Gaza, figures seem absurd, compared to the ongoing horror of the destruction and the humanitarian catastrophe, as the Gaza death toll has approached 45,000 Palestinian martyrs, 70% of whom are children and women."

Echoing His Majesty King Abdullah II, she stated: "The Israeli aggression has caused one of the fastest death rates, compared to recent conflicts, and has resulted in war-caused famine, the largest group of amputated children, and unprecedented levels of destruction. The Israeli government has killed more children, journalists, humanitarian aid workers, and medical personnel in this war than in any conflict in modern history."

As Israel killed tens of thousands of Palestinian children, she noted it has also so far tried over 700 children in military courts annually, while thousands are detained.

Reports issued by UNICEF show the catastrophic impact of this war on Gaza children and families, as the tally of internally displaced Gazans is estimated at approximately 1.9 million, she said.

In this regard, she noted over half of them are children, who do not receive sufficient water, food and medicine, indicating that over 600,000 children are trapped in Rafah alone and have no safe place to go."
