  18/ Arab Forum Discusses Leadership, Sustainability in Digital Era

Amman, November 20 (Petra) -- The 8th Arab Forum, titled Sustainability and Economic Development - The Role of Leadership in Achieving Institutional Excellence in Light of the Digital Revolution, opened on Wednesday in Amman, organized by the Amman Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Arab Trainers Union.

The two-day forum features scientific and discussion sessions exploring the role of technology and innovation in sustainability and economic development, leadership strategies for institutional excellence, and training as a tool for growth.

Representing the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, the General Controller of Companies, Wael Armouti, emphasized Jordan’s commitment to institutional leadership as a cornerstone for building resilient economies capable of addressing the challenges of the digital revolution. He highlighted the importance of investing in human resources, fostering innovation, and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives to achieve sustainable development.

Armouti stressed that sustainable economic growth requires a synergistic partnership between public and private sectors, noting Jordan’s efforts to launch initiatives encouraging investment and leadership to stimulate economic growth. He also lauded the Arab Experts Portal, an innovative platform connecting Arab experts and companies to enhance economic partnerships and sustainable development.

The Amman Chamber of Commerce chairperson, Khalil Haj Tawfiq, reiterated the Chamber’s dedication to achieving sustainability and institutional excellence. He detailed efforts to implement digital transformation, particularly in retail trade, e-commerce, and consulting services, while developing legislation to regulate these sectors and enhance productivity and trade exchange between Arab countries.

President of the Arab Trainers Union, Younis Khataybeh, underlined the necessity of institutional excellence to address regional challenges. He highlighted the Union’s role in empowering Arab talents through training and the Arab Experts Portal, which fosters knowledge-sharing and innovation to advance economic and social development.

Director General of the Arab Planning Institute, Abdullah Fahd Shami, emphasized the need for flexible and efficient leadership to navigate rapid digital transformations. Speaking via video, he announced the launch of the Arab Experts Platform, aimed at enhancing collaboration among Arab professionals and offering accredited certifications and awards to boost competitiveness and foster professional growth.
