Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi met Tuesday with UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir O. Pedersen to discuss intensified efforts toward a comprehensive political solution to the Syrian crisis.

Safadi, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, emphasized the urgency of resolving the crisis in a way that safeguards Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

He highlighted the need to address the aspirations of the Syrian people, restore stability and security, and create conditions for the voluntary return of refugees a regional imperative that Jordan continues to champion.

"Ending the Syrian crisis is essential for regional stability, and Jordan will spare no effort in working toward this goal," Safadi stated.

Pedersenexpressed his gratitude for Jordan’s steadfast commitment to finding a resolution, praising its role as a regional leader in addressing the multifaceted challenges posed by the crisis.
