2/ Cold Weather, Rainfall Forecast for Northern Jordan

Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra) -- Jordan will experience cold and rainy weather conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday, particularly in the northern and central regions. According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, Tuesday’s weather will be slightly cold and partly to mostly cloudy, with intermittent rain showers expected throughout the day. Some of the rainfall may be heavy at times, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, especially in the northern areas.

By midday, rain is anticipated to spread gradually to parts of northeastern Jordan. Winds will be moderate southwesterly, occasionally intensifying and potentially causing dust in desert areas.
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings regarding reduced visibility due to fog in highland and plain areas, as well as the possibility of dust in desert regions. Residents are advised to avoid valleys and low-lying areas prone to flash flooding.

On Wednesday, the weather will remain slightly cold and partly cloudy across most regions, while warmer conditions are forecast for the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Scattered rain showers are expected in isolated areas of the north and center, with moderate southwesterly winds prevailing.

Temperatures are set to rise slightly on Thursday, bringing mild weather across most areas on both Thursday and Friday. The Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will experience warmer conditions, with high-altitude clouds appearing in the sky. Winds will shift to moderate northeasterly.

Temperatures today are expected to range between 17 C and 10 C in East Amman, 15 C and 8 C in West Amman, 14 C and 8 C in the Northern Highlands, and 13 C and 6 C in the Sharah Mountains. Warmer conditions are forecast for the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with highs of 25 C and 26 C and lows of 16 C in both areas.
