16/ JLA Acquires FIATA Accreditation for Freight Forwarding Diploma
Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra) - The Jordanian Logistics Association (JLA) has earned accreditation of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA). Nabil Khatib, President of the JLA, said the diploma is the first comprehensive program of its kind, addressing all aspects of shipping, trade, and logistics services. It aims to enhance the efficiency of companies operating in the shipping, navigation, and logistics sectors, he pointed out. Khatib attributed "this milestone achievement" to the dedicated efforts of the JLA and a team of expert trainers, who spent a year developing academic study materials and plans aligned with FIATA's rigorous standards. He added that the program will elevate workers' skills to modern international benchmarks and receive support from the Technical and Vocational Skills Development Commission, which will assist students enrolling in the diploma. This accreditation marks a significant achievement for the JLA, enabling it to issue internationally-recognized certificates in logistics and supply chain management, he said. The program is expected to benefit freight sectors across land, sea, and air in Jordan and neighboring countries, positively contributing to industry growth and service quality. Founded in 1926, the Vienna-based FIATA is a global non-governmental organization grouping over 40,000 shipping and logistics companies across 150 countries, including Jordan. The JLA, a long-standing FIATA member, aims to support the Kingdom's shipping industry by fostering a competitive environment, safeguarding the profession, and advancing systems for brokers and logistics providers. //Petra// AO
