5/ Run Jordan Participates in Global AIMS Congress
Amman, Nov. 18 (Petra) -- The Jordanian Marathon Association, also known as Run Jordan, took part in the 24th World Congress of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), held in Vietnam from November 14 to 16 under the theme "From Heritage to Horizons." The event provided a platform to showcase Jordan's contribution to the global marathon community, with the association presenting its internationally accredited races: the Amman Marathon, the Dead Sea Ultra Marathon, and the Red Sea Half Marathon. As an active AIMS member, the association aimed to strengthen its role in promoting running and sports tourism. The congress covered a range of topics, including integrating cultural heritage into marathons, with Vietnam sharing its successful experience. Discussions also addressed innovative technologies like artificial intelligence in race management, minimizing environmental impacts of sports events, and fostering inclusivity in community initiatives. Representing Run Jordan, Lina Al-Kurd highlighted the significance of participating in such global events, noting that they provide valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, explore partnerships, and adopt best practices for enhancing marathon experiences. On the sidelines of the congress, participants joined a 5 km run, adding a practical element to the discussions.
