8/ Tourism Income Hits $6.153 Bln in 10 Months of 2024
Amman, Nov.17 (Petra) -- Jordan’s tourism income for the first ten months of 2024 totaled $6.153 billion, marking a 4.4% decline compared to the same period in 2023. This decrease is largely attributed to a 6.6% drop in the number of inbound tourists, according to preliminary data from the Central Bank of Jordan. The data also revealed positive growth in specific segments, with tourism revenue from Jordanian expatriates rising by 6.2%, and from Arab visitors increasing by 11.6%. Conversely, income from European, American, and other international tourists saw a decline. On a separate note, the data indicated a 2% increase in spending by Jordanians on international tourism during the first ten months of 2024, reaching $1.657 billion, compared to the same period last year. //Petra// WH
