7/ NAF's Empowerment Program Enhances Economic Stability for 399 Families
Amman, Nov. 17 (Petra) – The National Aid Fund (NAF) announced that its Economic and Social Empowerment Program has successfully improved the economic status of 399 families by linking them to the Ministry of Labor’s National Employment Program. Khetam Shneikat, NAF Director General, emphasized that the partnership with the Ministry of Labor has proven highly effective in supporting the fund's beneficiaries. She noted that over 7,000 individuals from recipient families have been registered on the National Employment Platform, with 2,489 securing employment. These individuals benefited from a full range of program incentives, including a 12-month period during which their employment income was not factored into their eligibility for financial assistance. Shneikat highlighted that the program has contributed to a tangible increase in the income levels of 399 families, particularly among 772 individuals who completed a full year of employment. This improvement has allowed these families to achieve greater economic self-sufficiency, enabling the Fund to transition them out of assistance and direct support to households in greater need reflecting the core objective of the program. Furthermore, 373 families were able to improve their standard of living through the additional income generated by employment, while still remaining eligible for support based on their overall economic and social conditions. The National Aid Fund reaffirmed its commitment to shifting from cash assistance to long-term solutions through training and employment opportunities. The program includes comprehensive support, such as covering training costs, providing a monthly transportation allowance of JD50, and offering a one-year grace period during which income from employment is excluded from aid eligibility assessments. //Petra// WH
