34/ Hneifat: Jordan's agricultural sector to focus on food industries in 2025
Amman, Nov. 17 (Petra) -The Kingdom's agricultural sector will be regulated and developed in the year 2025 by prioritizing food industries and joint projects with international organizations, and focusing on enterprises that serve empowerment of youth and women, Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, on Sunday said. During his meeting with a slew of international organizations in Jordan, headed by Resident Coordinator and Representative of UN Secretary-General in Jordan, Sheri Ritsema-Anderson, the minister noted the importance of these bodies' support to the ministry's projects and operational programs, in terms of training and ensuring public safety and worker occupational health. The minister also referred to the ongoing efforts aimed to enhance partnership to implement projects of the National Plan for Sustainable Agriculture 2022-2025 and the National Food Security Strategy 2021-2023. The ministry, he stated, seeks to develop the Kingdom's agricultural sector by supporting small farmers and agricultural alliances, and achieving a path of food security under the stages of agricultural production of various crops. In this regard, he said this effort eyes to contribute to reduce Jordan's unemployment rates through direct and indirect recruitment processes and creating income sources for rural families through rehabilitation, financing and empowerment bids. //Petra// AG
