22/ Global Entrepreneurship Week Kicks Off at Princess Sumaya University
Amman, November 17 (Petra) – The 16th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, organized by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, commenced on Sunday. Held in strategic partnership with the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC), the event, combining virtual and in-person sessions, will run until November 24. The university's president Wijdan Abu Haija highlighted the center's efforts since its establishment in 2004 to enhance Jordan's entrepreneurial ecosystem under the guidance of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees. She underscored that the event offers a vital opportunity to celebrate entrepreneurship and innovation, with contributions from 180 partners. She added that the university prioritizes fostering entrepreneurial capabilities as a cornerstone of progress and sustainable development. By encouraging students to innovate and transform ideas into viable projects, the Queen Rania Center plays a pivotal role in advancing these goals. Mohammed Obeidat, the center’s director, described the week as a global platform celebrating innovators and job creators who contribute to economic growth and societal well-being. This year’s activities focus on ecosystems, education, inclusion, and policies, with events spanning all governorates. The agenda includes lectures, workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities to support entrepreneurship and innovation. Tarek Bitar, Zain Jordan’s Executive Director of Media, Communication, Innovation, and Sustainability, stated that Global Entrepreneurship Week has become a highly anticipated event for Jordan’s youth and entrepreneurs, noting that ZINC will host diverse activities in several governorates, addressing market needs and empowering entrepreneurs to develop their ideas and projects. //Petra// AJ
