Amman, July 26 (Petra)-- According to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the European Union would provide Ukraine 1.5 billion euros in revenues from frozen Russian assets on Friday.

After Moscow dispatched troops into Ukraine in February 2022, Western nations blocked assets worth over $300 billion that belonged to the Russian sovereign.

In order to secure a $50 billion loan for Ukraine and help with its defense against Moscow's invasion, the Group of Seven major democracies and the EU decided last month to use the income earned from the Russian assets that were blocked. Russia promises to take legal measures.
