London, July 24 (Petra) -- The brutal war in Sudan has devastated the lives of millions for too long, UK Foreign and Development Secretary David Lammy said.

Lammy emphasized that the UK supports the ceasefire talks proposed by US Secretary of State Blinken, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia.

"We urge the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces to fully participate – only they can end the fighting," Lammy said Wednesday in a post on his X account.
