  14/ JHA, JADS sign MoU to combat drugs

Amman, July 23 (Petra) -Jordan Hotel Association (JHA), and Jordan Anti-Drugs Society (JADS) Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance joint cooperation in the field of combating drugs.

According to a joint statement, the memo, which was signed by JHA President, Abdul Hakim Hindi, and JADS Chairman, Dr. Musa Tarifi, aims to enhance awareness of the dangers of drugs and support preventive programs in society, especially in the Kingdom's hotel sector.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Hindi said the memo reflects the JHA's commitment to its social responsibility and its "active" role in enhancing community awareness on drug-related dangers, indicating that the association "believes in the necessity of uniting efforts to confront this phenomenon, which poses a major threat to society."

For his part, Tarifi said combating drugs requires the orchestrated efforts of all parties, pointing out that this partnership will contribute to strengthen national efforts to counter this dangerous problem.

Tarifi also praised the "constructive" cooperation with the JHA, expressing his confidence that this partnership will contribute "significantly" to boost national efforts to combat drugs.

The statement added that the memo comes within the framework of Jordan's keenness to fight drugs and strengthen efforts aimed at protecting society from this phenomenon.
