13/ SSC to Enforce Minimum Wage Increase in 2025
Amman, Dec. 22 (Petra) - The Social Security Corporation (SSC) has announced its commitment to implementing the Tripartite Committee for Labor Affairs’ decision to raise the minimum wage from JD260 to JD290, starting January 1, 2025. In a statement released Sunday, the SSC said this decision, valid for 2025, 2026, and 2027, applies to all workers under Labor Law No. 8 of 1996 and its amendments, regardless of wage payment mechanism, including daily, weekly, or hourly rates. The wage will also set the contributions under the Social Security Law. However, the decision exempts workers in the Kingdom's garment sector due to a collective labor agreement in place for the industry. Additionally, non-Jordanian domestic workers, cooks, gardeners, and others in similar roles are excluded from the wage hike. //Petra// AO
